This is about Obama's reaction to it.

The president also considered for a moment what would happen if he, like Gates, were unable to enter his home — the White House — and decided to force the door open. He concluded: “I’d get shot.” The audience of news reporters burst into laughter.

A friend is going to get Linnea's prescription now. For some reason, I find this really upsetting. But it should prevent her getting as ill as I have.

Oh, gawd.

I feel oddly lucid and upright at the moment. Perhaps I'm better.

Yuck

Emer's cough is getting worse (but the doctor agrees with me that tamiflu would be a bad idea for her). I am developing pains in my chest. And I can't be having with sitting up for long, or standing.

I've been thinking of all the housework, laundry and DIY we ought to be doing.

Because it makes me want to swear and insult people. It's like mildish flu, really, but crankier. And a lot hungrier.

This evening has been brilliant; I got up and had a bath, washed my hair, tidied handtowels and medicines into their new places in the bathroom, and Rob changed the bedding. Linnea had her Tamiflu in a spoonful of chocolate spread and Emer is coughing, flushed, hoarse, and cheerful.

We're all going to be fine, I feel this evening. Both children are very strong and healthy normally so we'll be grand as long as no-one tries to make Emer take oral medication.

Our friend made two separate trips from the other side of town today, for two separate trips to the pharmacies and lots of food shopping. We are so lucky.

And I thank all the gods from the bottom of my heart for the NHS. Our only financial worry was Rob's lost time at work, not that AND the cost of consultation and treatment.
