Poems we learned in school
Feb. 26th, 2009 10:00 amMy teacher in fourth class (age 8 approx) tended not to do the poems in our Reader. Some of the ones I remember doing are...
( Heraclitus )
Two little boys had two little toys, each had a wooden horse (long, so do click the link for the full text).
The little toy dog is covered with dust,
but sturdy and staunch he stands. (again, long).
... that same teacher also had a thing for martyrs. And people who had stigmata.

It took a tsunami to show me that we can afford to give a day's wages to charity.
We got up on time for once - I half-woke Linnea for a feed at about midnight, so she didn't get the night fright she usually does, so she didn't have to sleep in our bed, so I could move my arms when I woke.
The past two nights I have had bad dreams - Monday night, two rapes, two murders, and one dismemberment, and Tuesday night Linnea was not legally my child, though I had borne her and was her wetnurse, due to [something that made perfect sense in the dream but I forgot as soon as I woke up].
First impressions: Oooh, nice weather.
At lunchtime today, Linnea ate so much broccoli that she couldn't chew it.
The antibiotics seem to be helping my chest - in spite of terrifying one of my guests (I had a trail of ranting guests today, most unusual, more later) by laughing until I stopped breathing, I am feeling much better.
That quote from Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels sums it up.
We went to CCDE, it was good but totally different to or from my previous CCDE experiences, we got back, I am incredibly tired and have been taking antihistamines to combat the huge swelling insect bites.
Linnea was a little dehydrated going to sleep last night, so I was a little dehydrated waking up this morning.
We got up a little later than the original plan, due to lacking the motivation to go into London to do a full 8-hour day of concentrated work at a weekend, and dropped into the Farmer's Market on the way to the station.
I got cards, gifts, and guests.
I've seen this in a whole heap of places and it seems pleasantly fluffy.

That dang-blasted interview meme
Oct. 29th, 2005 08:34 pm1. Leave a comment saying you want to be interviewed.
2. I'll reply and give you five questions to answer.
3. You'll update your LJ with the five questions answered.
4. You'll include this explanation.
5. You ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed. And it just keeps going, and going, and going....
