It isn't very meek and it isn't very mild
In fact it's quite sadistic - let's leave it in the wild
Heaven can't protect us from the convalescent child.

Today's question: How does one prepare for a sleepless week followed by at least two days on which one is screamed at - followed around the house and screamed at - for 45 minutes without pause? Provide examples and show your work.

Today is great,
Today is sunny,
The only poorly one is mummy.
Today is happy
Though I feel crappy
And someone needs a nice new nappy.

Today I have mostly been spouting doggerel for the amusement of the under-5s. I've read books and sung songs, and we've had minimal tantrums and minimal TV. I've also got two loaves of bread and a rhubarb clafouti in the oven. I think I could have a cup of tea now. And a chest infection.

And get dressed. Emer's well but snotty, and my pyjamas are her number one hankie choice. Perhaps I've inadvertently soaked them in balsam. They're certainly cotton-soft.

(One nice thing about this year's illnesses is that they've all been Going Around. Last year I got horribly sick with things no-one else was suffering from; this year I have company.)

Friends, Romans, Gastronomes, give me your recipes.

I have access to a fructose syrup which is apparently low-GI, for sweetener, and want to make it *entirely* of locally produced foods, so things like Splenda are out. I was thinking something like a bitter chocolate and nuts fridge bar, or custards?
