I'm not very pleased about it. It's not what I'd hoped for.

But the consultant was lovely, which helps.

Sorry to hear that. But very glad that the consultant was nice. That will help (I assume this is the same one you'll actually see again to get this all sorted?).

It could be much worse (and you probably don't want to hear that right now). At least you can *plan* when to have future children and usually, from what I've heard, planned C-sections are much easier to recover from than unplanned ones.

My sister's had two C-sections: first one, they left her in labour for half a day until it became clear that she just couldn't; the second,, they pulled her in at a suitable time. The second was far less traumatic for mother, father and baby. (My brother in law, after the first one, was heard to comment along the lines of: "it's all well and good, but why did J. and I have to go through a horrible day when it was clear to them from the first moment they saw us?"

(I think he actually had a worse time over the labour than she did!)

Andy actually asked me if I wanted him there in my labour with tiggle as he said he found it very difficult to cope last time as the volume of non-progressive pain I was in.

For me, a lot of it is now a blur & when Andy mentions things, I don't even remember them.

i'm sorry that you can't have any natural births.

but does this mean you can still have more children? because if it does, that's a heck of a wonderful bright side!

*hugs* I can understand your disappointment.

Part of me is tempted to have the planned c-section I was offered with tiggle as labour _hurts_ but the sensible part knows that a natural labour has a shorter recovery time than a major operation.

As long as you have plenty of help arranged for after any future births, then you'll be fine :) I made the mistake of not having enough help available after my emergency c-section with Kate as I was let down & didn't insist that Andy take time off work to help me out.

I wouldn't classify your labour as a "normal" natural labour though. When I think of natural labour, I think of ones like my mum's that lasted 6 hours with no pain relief as it wasn't needed.

I struggled to recoved from the back pain from carrying a transverse baby for the last trimester far more than recovering from the c-section surgery tbh anyway.

Sending you massive, massive hugs. No more natural births for me either, and the disappointment (and resentment) runs deep - I can only imagine how much worse it must be for you, and you have all of my thoughts and support. ((hug))
