Heavy

This morning in bed I reached a state of mindless heaviness which was utter bliss. I was absolutely still, had no thoughts other than observations on my physical state (honestly, this is not usual for me, three or four trains of simultaneous thought plus continuous self-observation is more normal), and felt very heavy, as though the heaviness was pressing me firmly down in bed and preventing me from moving. I don't know whether I COULD have moved, because I didn't want to try. I sort of tried to go back to sleep, in a passive way that was more like allowing myself to go back to sleep if that happened, which it didn't.

Then the feeling went away.

I hope it happens again.

I've had something vaguely like that in a Quaker meeting, once. I want it to happen again but have no idea how to achieve it.

Back in the 90's I was going to a church that I liked quite a bit that did a lot of guided meditation and I would slip into the state that you describe. Very nice indeed.

Best. Feeling. In. The. World. Adore it when it happens, hate that you can't chase it, it just disapears!

Sometimes, I do go to sleep. Then I get the most awesome dreams. We call them 'clear down' dreams. They just make so much sense of the world, in a dream scape way.

I think that might be what I sometimes hear people refer to as "relaxed". I have no personal experience in that arena, though, so could be wrong on that one.
