I call the *biggest* meal of the day "dinner", in my case this is (almost without fail) the evening-meal.
I would call a meal eaten first-thing "breakfast" but I don't eat any such meal and thus replied "coffee" which is all that I have before noon on most days.
Oh, and I think it is class/geography related; but I couldn't actually decode this information from the answer people have give.
I don't often have elevenses or afternoon tea, which IMO involve at least some food and are called those things. If I just have something to drink the it's whatever-the-drink-is and not a meal-name.
Likewise I don't often eat again just-before-bed; if I did it might be "supper" or "a snack". I don't really have a name for "nibbling at biscuits whilst watching the TV".
