Cooking: It's a chore

I like cooking and eating good food. But I think it's something I only like if I am already feeling fairly with-it and energetic. Or someone other than me will eat it and remark on it; I hate food that just gets eaten and forgotten in seconds. Or ignored.
So this evening we had beans and eggs and mushrooms and onions instead of proper dinner. At least I'm encouraging Linnea to like mushrooms; Rob and I both dislike them (he dislikes them, I find they make me gag) so it would be simplest never to have them.
Emer quite liked the raw ones they had in their lunches today but wasn't impressed with the fried ones.
Ugh. Mushrooms. Yuck.
