My neck and shoulders are defaulting to rigid. This is not compatible with two small children. I really, really need a neck-rub but Rob can't tell which bits are muscle and anyway his hands get tired very, very fast. I've been trying to do my own but that hurts too.

Ho hum.

Also, I really, really need to get Emer into her own bed; gradually Rob's been getting back to the idea that it's ok to walk her to sleep in the buggy and that makes my life really, really hard. If she had her own bed at least I wouldn't end up quite so bruised. I hate being punched awake by little baby fists on my nose and eyelids, though I do concede that it's effective.

In better news, an undrugged Rob is much easier to wake up, whether in the middle of the night or first thing in the morning, though he still can't hear a baby crying in his sleep.

Can you take painkillers more than just ibuprofen? I know you have used codeine before for example...

I have chronic shoulder problems and find a /very/ hot bath and codeine before bed helps me relax enough to sleep well which breaks some of the tension to pain cycle.

Chiropractor?

I hope you don't mind me leaving a comment - it's just that I had something very similar about 9 months ago, just after my second daughter was born. I left it and left it, assuming it would sort itself out eventually, until suddenly one morning it hurt to breathe and I literally couldn't feed my (entirely breast-fed, had never seen a bottle and wouldn't know what to do with one) baby. I called a friend, and she said call the chiropractor, and you know what, he fixed me. Not cheap though. But I know you're feeding too, so possibly worth the outlay before you get too bad?
