ailbheThe first actual meeting of the book club was today; there were three people there other than myself and the parent who owns and runs the Workhouse Coffee Shop; we chose a book from my selection - Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons - and arranged to allow about a month to read each book but to meet up weekly, more or less.
No-one seemed thrilled by the idea of alternating non-fiction and fiction, to be honest, but I might suggest it again next time I'm there.
(I've also measured up the small back bedroom and I believe self and Rob could in theory move in there, freeing up the front room for guests and sitting, and later offspring. Further bulletins as events warrant.)
