Today Emer is eight months old. She has four teeth that we know of, and uses them to chew things up. She's excited to the point of uncontrollable flailing by dinnertime, and puzzled by a cup that pours even when she's not sucking. She crawls around competently and cruises gingerly along the walls. She pulls herself up on anything above her own ankle level. The fact that she can't stand unsupported frequently comes as a big surprise.
When she wants something she strives for it, even while complaining that I'm not providing it. When she really can't have something she generally settles for an alternative.
When Rob puts on his coat and bike helmet in the mornings she looks stricken; she gets happy and excited when he comes to kiss her and then is heartbroken when he closes the door behind him. Rob coming home is the high point of her day.
She likes to bop noses - with me, with Linnea. She grabs Linnea's ears and pulls her in for a big nose-to-nose nuzzle. If she sees a bath, she has to be in it. Water is possibly the best, after Rob, in the whole world.
She plays peekaboo untiringly - at least, I get tired of being pleased and astonished to see her far faster than she gets tired of leaping out at me. She loves kisses. She has a very, how shall I put this, pointed sense of humour.
She is the bestest.
