As Finbarr from the Rubbadubbers said.

What have you spotted lately in the wonderful world of children's television?

ETA: It's a Stones lyric. I realised a while ago that many many kids' shows have stuff like this thrown into them; it amuses me; I'd like to know what others have spotted.

I caught about 10 seconds of Hi-5 this morning, largely by accident.

10 seconds of skinny women flouncing about in bright pink frilly skirts and giggling in a high-pitched fashion were about as much as I could take.

Do you use signing with you daughter? If so there are some amazing kids programs out there which incorporate it

HI 5 is evil personified. Uber chirpy is scarey.

Parts of Hi-5 are quite good - mainly the bits with Tim and Nathan (awww) in, admittedly. And I'm not keen on the dancing at each end.

Fortunately we have reverted to CBeebies and Milkshake is but a distant memory (which I am trying to suppresss.... *why* do people insist on getting someone who can't sing in tune to do a character who sings a lot? {Noddy])

"It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for..." and "Go forward in all your beliefs..."

Both of which speeches were lifted from original Dr. Who and turned up at the end of the first season of "Raven" last year. 8)

Not lately, but a few years ago when watching a DVD of Bullwinkle episodes.

Boris Badinov used "Raskolnikov!" as his swear word. Finally I understood why the name was so familiar when I read "Crime and Punishment" in high school.

You must be some kind of Super mum!

I have three kids 13,10 and 15 months. I never have time to watch tv or do any of the amazing things that you do! I do howver use washable nappies which are great. If you have any advice as how to maximise my energy levels I would be most interested. I have just completed a course of radiotherapy for cervical cancer and am looking towards a full hysterectomy to ensure its all gone. I need supportive mothers to help me work out how to explain all to the kids and survive the energy zapping stuff without physically killing them. HELP!!

By thw way fro reading your journal I reckon you are an inspiration and a fantastic role model. All power to you, GO girl!!

I read this post and then watched Sesame Street - today's had a couple of throw-away phrases, notably "A whole lotta shaking going on!" and "Hammer time!"
