Things are looking up. I have a Plan for when I get home again. I'm going to change so that we have more at-home-no-plans days ; it was only Mondays. We'll do things on alternate weeks - one week we'll do NCT coffee and the toddler group, the next we'll do the breastfeeding group and the home ed group. That's one near and one far thing every week, and three days of no plans.

I'm also going to get a double buggy of some kind, because although no buggy is simpler it's not physically easier, really. I hate being limited by a buggy but I need to tire myself less and a buggy will help that. Poor kids. I might investigate a buggy board again but I don't think they're worth the money, honestly.

I have had PMS lately too, which hasn't helped. Last night at about 4 am I actually shook Linnea beacuse I couldn't handle her waking Emer and kicking me and crying and shouting and whining. That's not good. I stopped myself on the first shake before it worked up into hard, but it would have been infinitely better not to have started.

However, this morning she got suited and booted and we went to the park and she got good and muddy. We went yesterday and she got so muddy I had to strip her off before having chips in a cafe, because we forgot wellies and raingear and it was lashin'. There were streams along all the paths and the grass splashed up when we walked on it. She got soaked. It was great. There was mud from her ankles to her shoulderblades, but the front of her socks was beautifully white - she sat down. Hee!

Mum is getting a little better a little at a time. The girls and I are better apart from minor coughs and major runny noses. We will probably all present at the doctor's again on Monday. I don't relish flying on Saturday with two kids with sinus trouble, especially if I'm still clogged up myself.

The pharmacist says I can't take Feminax while breastfeeding because of the Hy-something, because breastfeeding causes the uterus to contract anyway and the Hy-something does too so that's bad. But, er, breastfeeding after six months or so really has a negligible effect on my uterus, I swear! Give me the drugz! Anyone have any solid info on it?

The Feminax website informs me that Feminax is just bog standard 8/500 paracetamol and codeine. I know you breastfed for a long time on far, far more codeine than that, so...

Aha!
"Feminax has been reformulated and no longer contains hyoscine and caffeine"

What the hell use is packaging bog standard 8/500 codeine/paracetamol as something fancy and charging an arm & a leg for it? Argh!

I've never been able to take Feminax because of the caffeine, but hrm. I have hyoscine-N-butylbromide here in the form of Buscopan, an IBS/gallstone/generic digestive system antispasmodic. If it makes the uterus contract, it's news to me - since I've been on it for gallstones I've found it helps tremendously with the extra ick that menstruation causes my digestive system. The leaflet just says "talk to your doctor or pharmacist if breastfeeding". How useful.

I could probably ask one of my friendly useful identical twin pharmacists for advice for you, if still needed.
