Today we bought the obligatory Christmas gifts for my family. We have yet to get the ones for Rob's family, but at least we're partway there. I'm going to Ireland in three weeks, so it's not as premature as all that.
Before that we picked up my contact lenses for the next three months, and I got some purple-framed transition lenses glasses. These are marvellous: I can see! Apparently my contacts are slightly abrading the upper edge of my right eye and I need to see if I can kickstart my tear ducts and if that doesn't work, use eyedrops.
I also bought something for
elisem but I haven't found her address to send it. And there's something for
submarine_bells and I need to find that address too.
However, yesterday I sent the cheque and the books they paid for, so that's done. The books will arrive before the cheques clear, but that's my fault for sitting on the cheque for so long.
Also today we bought a super-cheap entirely frivolous nappy bag. I received a wheeled carry-on suitcase that looks like a ladybird as a birthday gift, and today we found a matching nappy bag for about a third original price. I am very happy and very spotty. Is red! Is spotty! Is sturdy! Yippee!

I am listening to the extended interviews from http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/programmes/misc/insearchofgod.shtml and I want to get a copy of the
theladiesloos book.
