ailbhe: (emer)

Emer is napping upstairs in her moses basket again; this is a pattern I hope to hang on to, because it's very restful for me. I've had another good day.

The laundry is puttering along; there's mountains left but a lot has been achieved. I haven't tackled the dirty nappies yet.

I'm smaller! Today I unearthed my favourite nursing bras - Bravado Designs - which haven't fit me since shortly after I got pregnant with Emer. They fit! I love them because they come with matching knickers and are not mindbogglingly boring. I've also got into a pair of non-maternity jeans; Per Una stretch jeans, size 12, but they are a very very generous 12. M&S sizes are getting bigger all the time, I think.

I haven't made my phonecalls. I need to make two physiotherapy appointments and one GP appointment. I need to arrange childcare for all three, if possible. I also need to go to the library, and into the town centre. After my restful weekend, I think I can manage it. I may even assemble the organisation needed to assemble the many items I need to get to a postoffice and send.

The cleaner is coming tomorrow morning. I might make calls while she's here, then go out, with the big buggy to carry errand materials.

I think we need to get rid of the electric swing. At least stick it in the attic; Emer is unimpressed and it takes up space.

This is so, so peaceful. Two mornings in a row I've lazed around in bed during Emer's wakeful morning period, playing with her, tickling her 'til she giggles, talking to her, listening to her gurgle... I never get to do this with her.

If only I could get some real one-to-one time with Linnea too. I might manage it if I can get Emer to nap upstairs from now on.

But I'm taking things very easy indeed from here on in. I've been trying too hard and getting too tired. My personal standards have dropped a lot now. They'll be much easier to live up to.

I hear Emer waking. I've finished my pot of Earl Grey though, so that's ok.
