Restful weekend

I spent the morning mainly in bed, either sleeping, feeding, or playing with Emer. She did the most enormous poo, so when she slept I sorted out all the dirty nappies and set them to soak, put away the dry laundry, and hung the wet. And stuck a load of bedding on.

I also finished making the bara brith, which I had for lunch. I'm going to need a bigger loaf tin; it overflows now that we're using fresh flour rather than ancient stuff.

I think Emer is considering a growth spurt; her digestive patterns are altering again and she's getting overtired and cranky.

And I watched a Jeeves & Wooster double bill on ITV3. Dinner's reheating in the oven. My contact lenses are a baffling mystery to me; I can't even tell whether they're inside-out or not.

It's amazing how restful "just the baby" is with the second, isn't it?
We are having a toddler free weekend too,while she is being spoiled by her grandparents, and I've got so much done, and had a massive laze :)

Hope the rest of your holiday is just as nice.

Hooray for spending time in bed. I had a nap today at lunchtime and felt so much better afterwards.

Re the contact lenses, I get that sometimes when I'm very tired - they just seem to irritate my eyes as if I've put them in inside-out even when I haven't. If rinse-and-repeat doesn't work, it's a specs day until I can get some more sleep!

My way of telling whether or not they're inside-out is as follows: blink hard; if they feel like they're 'uncrinkling' (rather than just sliding back into place) after you blink, they're inside out. That's with the kind I wear, anyway. Yours might well be completely different.
