The self-consciously cute, nasal, high-pitched baby-voice can stop ANY TIME NOW. Emer is three, she knows how to speak such that I don't want to hit my head on the wall.

To be fair, she does amend it when I ask her reasonably, it's only when I'm at the end of my tether she pushes it.

I say "Emer's own voice," when she's using the baby voice to address me, but it's annoying even when she isn't. And I just say "You're whining," when they're whining. It works pretty well for whining.

I think annoying pretend voices are just a small-child thing but I have a low tolerance for them. We used to close the windows when the child next door did it.
