Emer is a sleeping baby today. She slept three hours on the beanbag in the morning, and then we went out and she has slept in the buggy from 1 pm - before that she was dozing in the sling for about an hour. I've hardly had to sling her at all. It's freakish.
We went out this morning. On Thursdays there's a regular (this is the third one) breastfeeding group at the library, from 11 am. The health visitor mentioned it to me because she knows I'm interested. It was interesting - there was tea, and biscuits with whey powder so we couldn't eat them but never mind, and some toys, and babies younger than Emer up to crawling age, and Linnea. People were very interested in my ring sling and I promised to bring the hugabub next week to show them, too. Next week they may all try both of them, going by today's fascination.
And I got to meet Lynn, my health visitor, who is lovely. She says they still haven't been notified that I took a 4-week-old to A&E with a head injury, but that she expects they will be. And I got to meet a BfN representative and they're trying to organise a Supporter training course with childcare in the library, too. That will be fabulous. I'll finally have some training and be able to go out and help people properly.
After that I collected my reserved books and Linnea took out the books she'd been reading while I was talking to people, and we went to Sweet Masala for a masala dhosa again. I must order something else next time but I'm afraid she mightn't eat it, plus the masala dhosa, whatever that means, is very cheap and feeds us both well. It comes with coconut chutney and dhal, but I'm not sure whether it's the combination or the central dish that's the masala dhosa.
Emer slept through all of that so Linnea and I had a gorgeous time. Then we went to the doctors' surgery to see about registering Emer, but they were closed for training. Then we went back and knocked on M&L's door to see if they were in, and they weren't, which upset Linnea quite a bit. She came home after some persuasion and much singing (marching, running and hopping songs) and demanded telly. So she got telly. She's had 30 minutes so far.
I've started logging her TV watching because logging it means I'll use the TV less because TV is Shameful and Wrong. Hah. Also, we need to put a bookshelf up in the hallway for library books, in- and outbound. Somewhere she can't reach it.
And Emer's awake. 3 pm. Time for another feed. She's amazing. I never met a baby who slept this much in my house.
