I have some great red trousers I bought from Shakti in the arcade in town for the honeymoon, but it turned out that my waist was too small to wear them then. Now I'm up to 34" they fit beautifully. The have mirrors and trimmed ankles and all sorts. Very entertaining to wear. The zip is up the back though, like a skirt - weird.

And my pre-pregnancy shoes fit again! I can close my DM Mary Janes! And my tie-dyed socks! I am fab! Yippee!

That is very quick for getting back into shoes isn't it, so yay!

My feet swoll up HUGELY with Linnea, and quite a bit with Emer. I'm pleased I can get back into any shoes - my feet also spread when I was pregnant with Linnea, probably because I didn't get the divine genius at the hiking shop to measure me for hiking sandals. Adult width fittings and a mini-lecture on the skeleton of the foot. I love him.

The hiking shop man sounds fantastic. I fear if I ever became pregnant because my feet are already stupidly wide, last time I measured well off the scale of width in adult shoes on both feet. I wear hiking boots or docs as standard, and go up 1-2 sizes if I want to wear nice shoes for width...

If you *already* wear properly fitted women's hiking boots, they will stop your feet spreading as much anyway. That's one reason I wore my hiking sandals througout pregnancy - they support the ball and heel of the foot and stop them sliding around, which helps prevent skeletal spread. If I'd worn them with Linnea I might not have had to ditch so many shoes.
