Viral Gastro-enteritis

Rob got back from A&E at about 1 am and I went in to hospital at 7:30 am. We both have viral g-e. They are not postponing the section tomorrow morning, however, and if Rob is asymptomatic by this evening he will be allowed to attend. I'm allowed to attend anyway but may have to go it alone.

Rob is upstairs in bed and I am lying on a camping mattress on the floor downstairs.

It coud be worse; my sister has just got back from Rumania, where she was bitten by a stray dog who might have been rabid.

Edit: Mum arrived safely but late by train and ferry, Friday evening, and we had a lovely Saturday. Rob did no overtime this weekend.

Oh, you poor things. G-e is never fun, having it at this stage of pregnancy must be awful.

Oh my goodness! Isn't that JUST what you need? But if they will allow YOU to be there, I can't see why they shouldn't allow Rob to be there, too. Anything else seems illogical!

I was wondering all weekend, did your Mammy arrived safely?

Poor you, I had it twice in my pg with Holls, once towards the end too, very, very uncomfortable, so sympathies.

I also caught it off Holls when she was in hospital with it & had to come home at 4am so I could be ill in peace & sent Andy in to cover for me. Walking home in teh pitch black while trying not to puke was very uncomfortable. I counted all my steps to try & take my mind off the discomfort. Plus I had the massive guilt of Holly being without a parent for the 45 mins it took us to switch over as Andy could hardly leave Kate home alone while he came in to relieve me. She cried the entire time apparently too & the nurse couldn't settle her *maternal guilt*

Ouch. Sounds really unpleasant. Is there any good side to this, like maybe it'll help you cook up some extra-fabulous colostrum for baby's first drink?

I've been mostly off line lately so am behind with the news but wish you all well for this week. I don't think you need luck, I think you are as prepared as you can be (I could make tasteless jokes about even taking steps to evacuate your stomach pre anaesthetic :^) and it will be OK, you will cope and you will have another beautiful baby to keep you awake all night ;).
