Today Linnea is five years and two weeks old, and Emer is three years less three months old. We went to the community garden because I said I'd have the BfN National Breastfeeding Awareness Week picnic there and when I say a thing like that I do it, but it rained heavily and only three families came. The children had fun playing in the rain or with the garden hose, depending, and we ate and had tea and coffee.
Linnea wrote some signs, to go with the one I made saying "PICNIC ->". One of hers said "TOXNS M" and the other was an illustration of the kinds of weather we had today, including the best bit - rainclouds.
After we got home and had dinner, I checked a few rail journeys online - Mum's trip to Wokingham, should she choose to go, will be an absolute doddle, and the IKEA in Southampton is well within our grasp, so she and I will probably take the children there one day, armed with room measurements and ideas, and come back armed with furniture measurements and more ideas, so that Rob and I can plan better.
I also played silly finances and bought a permanent Dreamwidth account, because I'm slightly insane and because it was a good decision when I did it for LJ.
Rob and I are seriously considering going out for coffee together without the children, sometime during this grandparental visit, if the children will tolerate it. Linnea will, that's easy, but Emer might not be impressed. Nana has a long history of coinciding with parental absence, after all.
