Jun. 21st, 2006 04:19 pmI have a nasty sinus ick. Showed up on Saturday, still here now.
When I bend down, my head aches. The worst is the left-hand-side, where my jaw is aching pretty constantly. My eyes hurt. When I blow my nose, I get a wild range of colours, from yellow to green to orange. I'm going through tissues like a toddler with a Kleenex fetish.
I sleep stomach-down at night; I have two pillows under my chest, and a huge body-pillow folded up under my head, so I'm sort of sleeping on a wedge. This enables my sinuses to drain a bit, or at least not to get worse. I wake several times a night to blow my nose and this morning I woke up some time before 6:30 (after getting to sleep well after midnight) because I couldn't breathe any more.
Yesterday evening I noticed that my throat is getting sore. Today it's raw, horribly raw.
I'm allowed Lockets lozenges in moderation, and precious little else. I'm pretty clear that this is an honest to goodness infection, not hayfever, at this point. I've never had hayfever in my life so I wasn't sure if I was suddenly getting it for the first time because I'm pregnant in June.
I suppose if I get sick enough I go to the doctor and take antibiotics while pregnant. Yuck.
