... and breathe!
Oct. 21st, 2009 11:35 pmThe food arrived!
OMGZ the packaging.
However, it was easy and pleasant - the driver was nice, the substitutions were well-handled, the driver carried everything in and was polite and friendly and efficient.
Now the house is full of food and I feel inordinately wealthy. If I'm not careful I'll go too far the other way and build up huge stocks and hoard again; I've been really good about not hoarding for YEARS now. Like two.
Almost all the people I was expecting to visit cancelled this morning.
We had two deliveries for the shared house next door - one pot of flowers, very heavy, very glamorous and exciting, and one incredibly dull-looking Amazon box.
We made a magnificent chocolate cake with chocolate buttons and raspberry jam.
Then we ate it - five children and three adults. Then two other adults ate some more of it. It turns out we did have lots of visitors today after all.
Then we made a roast lamb dinner and a lemon drizzle cake, and three adults and two children ate a small bit of that, too.
I forgot to do reading with Linnea this evening but I can't imagine it matters. I remembered to call my mother.

Date: 2009-10-21 10:36 pm (UTC)If you ever need a lemon fix again, a half quantity of this recipe for little lemon fairy cakes is always fab and I can imagine your girls loving sprinkling things onto the icing.
Oh and obviously de-wheatfree it with normal flour.
