I actually believe it to be impossible to bring children up to respect themselves without their learning on the way to respect others. After all, in teaching them to respect themselves, the parents must be modelling respect for others, namely the children themselves. N'est-ce-pas? ;-)

Yeah, absolutely. Not always the easiest (step- in my case so far) parenting job, but lots of joy in it.
