My mother's visit continues charming.

She has even started to come around to the idea of my next baby being a homebirth baby, assuming I get to have a Next Baby. And the absurd fecundity of my family continues, as my baby sister is around 20 weeks on and I have a new nibling due in September.

Linnea loves being five and find it difficult to believe that she's not old enough yet to cross the road unassisted, and Emer loves being two and finds it difficult to believe that she has to have her teeth brushed twice a day.

Rob cooks a mean shepherd's pie.

The only fly in the ointment is that the True Food Co-op gave me 17 days notice of their AGM, and we had houseguests for the first five of them, so I didn't realise when it was happening until 12 days before it was due, and it's miles away and I'd have to bring a packed lunch "dish to share" and the cycle route is horrible, all main roads and ew, and I'm really annoyed, because I'd have worked out a carshare or something if I'd had more notice, or notice when life wasn't so insanely frantic, and anyway, what good is 17 days notice if one is on a three-week holiday or something? If one doesn't send "apologies" then one has broken the terms of the membership agreement and has one's bowler hat punched inside-out.

ON THE OTHER HAND Linnea and Emer showed Mary and Nana around Reading Museum today and there were lots of animals and machines and crowns and weaponry and so on, so that was good. And Linnea spoke to my little sister on the phone and thanked her for the present, and the other day Linnea volunteered to write a thank you card for my Uncle Paaaaatrick (always referred to as Páid within the family, but much prefers Patrick with a BBC accent, thenk you), and it has been lovely.

We are planning Outings.

I wish my mum was here, how cool :)

It's only 4 extra days, but AGMs usually need to give 21 days notice. Could you catch a taxi? I may use one tomorrow evening, as Andy is away with the car & Kate has been invited to a birthday party in the next town. We can all catch a bus there, but the evening will be trickier with less buses.
