Assuming the dates don't change, it's only 100 days until I have my new baby. Until I have it outside, that is. The due date is 22 August but I'm likely to go into labour 3 weeks early, as I did last time, and as my family tend to. And that's 1 August.

Gosh. Doesn't time fly? This all took a lot longer last time.

Half of me thinks "goodness! That's not long at all!" and the other half thinks "it can't be that soon, I haven't planted enough in the garden..."

It is amazing how much shorter second pregnancies seem to take. My third pregnancy seemed to be the longest - that may have been more due to the 14-year gap between that and the secondm plus the fact that, in that 14 years, home pregnancy tests were developed, so we/I knew about #3 much sooner than the first two. (Used to be the doctor wouldn't even schedule one for an appointment until the second missed cycle.)

Of my four, one was 2 days past my due date, two were nearly two weeks beyond, and one was 4 days early...if there's a pattern in there, I can't see it. I should compare notes with my mother some day - and my sister.

Yes - that's definitely what one would have to call "statistically significant." I just meant my own experience didn't seem to have much of a pattern (except for both the boys being decidedly late). That's why I mentioned comparing notes with mother and sister.

And, yes - an emergency C-section would not be good.

What a shame, because 21st of August is like the best birthday EVAR. I should know.

Actually, 1 august does mean never being at school on his/her birthday. Isn't Linnea's around nowish? I am le crap on birthdays, even unto my own.

22nd of August is of course O's birthday, and was my father's birthday.

Here from [livejournal.com profile] august_2006. I find that time both flies and crawls by slowly. My first pregnancy, hyperemesis (both self AND actually diagnosed, points for me!), and difficult flatmates. Tremendous.

I'm here to request to be linked to your birth story. Cautiously. I hope this one goes more smoothly, and I'll use my excessive free-time to try to find some decent c-section information available online for ya.
