The sun has got his hat on
Mar. 23rd, 2006 11:06 amIt's a glorious day, and we've finished all the morning's housework, and we've made a crown all covered in pompoms (and disassembled it; there are feathers all over the dining room), and we're having our snack before going to the park.
So the telly is on, because that way I get a much quieter snack. The more pregnant I get the more telly Linnea watches. Right now, we're watching the show with a presenter I find confusingly attractive. Rob says it's because he shares specific characteristics with my favourite ex, and I think he's right, but I can't help thinking there's something specifically peculiar about having a little crush on a children's tv presenter.
Various people I know are having very difficult times right now - personal and family tragedies and traumas, life complications, or "just" burgeoning depression. I feel slightly frivolous to be eating flapjacks in the sun from the bay window, watching cute gangly men on toddler television. I am thinking of you. I just don't have the faintest what I can do to help.

Date: 2006-03-23 11:38 am (UTC)As far as I am concerned, it lightens my day and warms my heart to see a happy frivolous post from you. You have been through more than enough for anyone, and deserve your happy days. It also serves to show that the light at the end of the tunnel may not be that of an oncoming train.
Be happy, eat flapjacks, play with your 'Nea.
As for tv presenters, you can keep your young gangly ones, just send me David Gower, the ex cricketer!

Your book arrived yesterday! It's shiny, and lovely to read.

Date: 2006-03-24 12:23 am (UTC)Holly loves Teletubbies & tells me the names of each one when they come on the screen & claps etc with them. V cute & we watch the afternoon one together when Kate is at school if we're at home. Personally, I'm a bit teletubbied out as Kate loved it too.
