After writing the previous entry, I had a particularly horrible panic attack, complete with inability to speak, racing heart, urge to vomit and um otherwise void, shaking, and massive desire to scream.

I managed to get to the front hallway and call for Rob, upon whom I collapsed in shreds. I'm better now. But god that was horrible.

Oh, honey. I am so sorry. They do pass, is the one good thing, and that knowledge is possibly the only good thing about repeated panic attacks. xxx

Sympathy and support from over here.

I was thinking, in your entry, how incredibly cool it was that you had it together all the times it really mattered. Panicking now seems pretty reasonable to me - all that 'what if' stuff had to go somewhere, maybe?

Guh. :( I hope that didn't totally negate the positive effects of the experience.

a very sensible way of looking at it, jennet
Also, I think it was for the best that you had the reaction fairly soon after the event.
More hugs on the pile

what jenett says. being brave isn't about not being afraid, it's about doing it anyhow.

I'm sorry, that sounds horrible. I hope that from a greater distance, it'll appear that the hospital experience still was healing. Do you think the fact of *saying* that it was healing might have been what precipitated the panic attack? Sometimes our bodies and minds are very good at saying "no, I'm not well yet, and don't you forget it" - doesn't mean they aren't getting better, all the same, it's just that you can't go any faster than you can go.
