Hot black coffee, warm white bread
Oct. 1st, 2009 10:23 pmToday we spent a little time sitting in the sunny corner of the garden (where the bench Linnea and I made a few years ago is) and a little time shouting at each other and a little time listening to music and a little time talking.
Emer found handwashing an intriguing process.
Both bikes were brought out but although Emer put her helmet on she didn't ride at all. Linnea rode not as far as she wanted, and did what is referred to as "acting out" when we wouldn't let her go further.
After dinner, both children painted, ostensibly under Rob's supervision but actually a bit of both of us and a bit of neither of us; he did the setup and cleanup though :)
Emer helped me to make the bread and Linnea helped me to lay the table and they both helped make French toast for lunch. My miserly habits were overruled and instead of trying to make one egg stretch as far as I could I put in enough for everyone and we all, not just the children, ate until we were full. Usually I reserve lots-of-eggs French toast for when we have guests.
Then I started in earnest choosing poems for the book fair thing on 1st November. I have copies of the three existent books ordered and am planning a fourth like those and a collection of all of the poems from them and the less gift-book type poems, too. The fourth gift book is well under way and I need to choose pictures, mainly. I think I have a cover image. I need about three other images, preferably of Emer growing up. But too tired tonight.
The big collection won't have images, thankfully. I'm thinking of calling it "The Laughing Day."
