R: No, she's doing it quite effectively by herself.

Overheard in a queue for ferry check-in on Saturday morning:
Are there any fucken muslims here?
I was deligh'e' when they shot that fella yesterday.
They should bomb the fucken mosque, that's be a pleasant change.

Seen, not overheard, on the ferry on Saturday: A woman pouring Coke (Coca-Cola) from a labelled bottle into a toddler's bottle, the kind with a teat, like for drinking formula or milk.

Yes, that would be the sort of amount ours got at that age. Now, we let them choose sweets or other small treats two or three times a week, and mostly, they choose small toys or comics - but I think it's important that they know the sweet stuff isn't forbidden.

Linnea pretty much gets what she asks for. This means that, when confronted with a shop fridge, she begs for sports bottles of mineral water... but if I drank fizzy orange, she'd probably get a taste of that too.

A *taste*, mind you, not a 7-oz bottle full. But I've always been funny about bottles...

Ours are of an age to have pocket money, now, so between that and the treats we get them, they could probably have sweets every day if they wanted to. They seem to moderate their intake quite naturally - for instance, there are usually still Christmas stocking leftovers in their rooms around the summer half-term (end of May).

I'm *hoping* that this is what will happen. It's how Rob works, for example. But my chocolate intake... Well. It's not the best of good examples.

I suspect my chocolate is actually self-medication, mind you.

My eating habits aren't the best either, but they're a lot better since I stopped trying to diet. I can have chocolate sitting in the fridge or the storecupboard uneaten for months now, which would never have happened before. When I do eat it, quite often it's self-medication for me, too.
