Today, Linnea was deliberately naughty for the first time. She understands "No" and usually obeys it. When she's trying something new or strange - going to a place she's usually supervised, such as the kitchen, for example - she looks at me to check it's ok. Today, she was playing in an inflatable paddling pool filled with small plastic balls (Woo! Gift vouchers for toy shops!) and periodically biting the balls, which is fine - she can bite holes in them, but we've only lost 3 or 4 to that so far, and we started off with 300.

Then she bit the plastic edge of the pool. I said "No!" and she did it again. I said "No!" and removed her from the edge and handed her a ball to bite; she bit the ball, discarded it, and looked at me - I said "No!" and she bit the edge again.

We had a few repeats before I realised that she was deliberately doing it for the reaction from me. So I said "No" one last time, and took the pool full of balls away. She had a little tantrum, from which she recovered pretty quickly.

At some point during a recent tantrum, I was able to clearly see that all four of those pesky molars are now through. I need to look up the schedule for the other 8 teeth she's due - 4 canines and 4 molars yet to go, I believe. I also need to look up when she's due her next immunisations and how to request the non-mercury version. Just in cases.

(And if you've started reading this recently, I'd love to hear who you are, where you found me, and why you're reading. The recent breastfeeding articles seem to have spread my readership a bit but I can't tell how far).

(And I really want to post a long one soon about being female and the relationship with blood that gives me, which will probably segue into a discussion of cloth nappies via the mooncup or keeper. Remind me, soon).

He seems to have picked up the idea pretty quickly that if we say No and he does it again, the item will be removed - until next time.
Re teeth - his bottom left second-from-centre is still AWOL though the others are arriving pretty much as expected. Any schedule is only a rough guide.
