It was low-key and pleasant; we had four mums, four dads, and four babies, including us; there was cake, and jellyanicecream, and sausage rolls (and spinach, olive and feta salad, but that's a modern addition to traditional birthday fare) and we played on the garden swing and ate lots of food and ran around and opened presents and sang Happy birthday and there's a photo of Linnea being bemused by a cake with a candle on it (Daddy baked the cake and it was a great success; Mammy was doing the jelly-and-icecream rabbits and the boring savoury food) but that's not half as bemused as she was when we sang Happy Birthday (I could have tried to count the keys but didn't, silly me). She didn't like her cake so she had a special birthday banana instead.

She likes the trike and the shape-sorter and the wrapping paper. And her new dress, which is long, and her old hat, and all the lovely people who came to admire her.

Nap schedule: Party started around 12:30. Linnea napped from about 11:30 to about 13:00. Little boy guest napped from about 14:00 - 15:30. Little girl guest #1 napped from about 15:00 - 16:15. Linnea's Daddy napped from about 15:10 to 16:30. All the guests had gone by 17:00.

(I, too, had a lovely birth day, and I am quite certain it has been a healing and useful thing, as well as lovely with extra cuddles, dabbadabba dabbadabba).

Extra special Birthday Hugs to Linnea and to her Mummy and Daddy. I'm so glad to hear that everyone had a lovely time, and sufficient naps :) A card for her is in the post, but is, as usual, at the mercy of Canada Post. We have bought plane tickets for the summer visit, and I will be sending you the details via email very soon.
