Run before you can walk? Who says?

Walking has lost its thrall. Running is the new project. It works well until the goal is in sight; once she's a body-length from the goal, she throws herself forwards. She has not yet hit her chin smartly on the goal as she goes down, but I feel sure it's a matter of time.
She dislikes being laughed at for throwing a temper tantrum, but I thought both of us crying might be unproductive. I viciously took a receipt away from her. I am a Bad Mother. Her Real Parents wouldn't have done that. I bet she's really a princess. Or a fairy baby and stolen by Gypsies and we bought her from a wicked witch. Because later on, as well as having taken a receipt away from her, I changed her nappy. Which is in the Geneva Convention, you know, right there next to genocide and putting hot things under the fingernails of prisoners of war.
Whatever she had, it wasn't thrush, unless thrush vanishes overnight with a few applications of lanolin cream. We've sterilised her nappies anyway; they're all drying very whitely now. Now to deal with the disposable-nappy irritation... at least it doesn't cause her as much pain.
It really looks like we need to wake at about 3 am for a nappy change; she gets one in a disposable because she always cries when her disposable is wet, but cloth nappies don't bother her so she sleeps very wetly unless she wakes for a feed. I strongly suspect that that 3-hour wet period in the night is what caused the chapping in the first place. Suggestions from cloth nappy users very welcome; we're already using two cotton bottoms and a polyester insert for extra absorbency. As to disposables - neither Huggies nor Pampers can take the water-weight reliably without getting soaked enough to leave crystals on her skin. We haven't had vouchers for any other disposables so we haven't tried any.
