Snooood!

I received a snood in the post recently. In fact, I received two, only one of which I had ordered. One's black with amber beads, and one's plain red. The red one's elastic is a little tight, but the black one is great. I had a few of those "dreadfully disappointed" moments the first day, as it slipped off a lot, but I have since discovered that that's just because my hair was clean. I get the same effect with hairslides / hairgrips - they slide right off unless my hair is slightly dirty.

And in a snood, my hair gets dirty and tangled quite quickly. I usually wear it in a plait, which keeps it back and tightly together so that it can't knot, frizz or get grimy. But Linnea can grip it, pull it, eat it and so on. In the snood, she can't, and it mats into a warm cap of hair around my head and neck.

I also quite like the look.

Beeeeez!

One bee. A peculiar, unbeelike bee, which I assume to be (a) edible (using the Linnea Theory Of Proving Inedibility) and (b) based on a children's cartoon character in France, because it came from France. Someone is thinking of us, which is heartwarming and moving and surprising. I'm not sure why it's surprising, but it is. Thank you.

Christmas cards

Well, actually, they're not yet. But nearly. I'm so organised I scare me. And, just as I was beginning to think that somethin wasn't about Linnea, a lot of them have photos of her in, and the reason they're ready so early is that I have surgery in... 15 days.
