I am very glad we use disposable nappy liners, but not as glad as Rob is that he left the house immediately before the gladdening nappy occurred.

Now I know why she wasn't very hungry for breakfast.

She woke up happy after her nap, which was pleasant, because I was sitting downstairs listening for noises through the ceiling; the parent unit of her monitor contains 4 dead AAA batteries. It was alovely excuse not to clean the bathroom, though.

I am experimenting with laundry - I think we may have reached critical drying mass. I'm rotating things; dryest things in the best drying positions, when they get dry, all roll over and one fall out. It's not much but of such small achievements are domestic bliss made - that, and eating half a bar of 70% chocolate before noon.

I have to go out and run errands soon, and it's wet so I can't wear my new boots. But first I must locate and charge my phone.

I didn't realise Linnea would become so complicated so soon - she's teething and crawling and last night her gum bled around the most recent tooth to break through. It's no longer safe to go to the loo without taking her in with me, and it's not safe then either because she crawls into the unsavoury corners of the bathroom. I must get Rob to extract the playpen accoutrements from the attic and assemble it properly.

When in our house, never move a chair back to stand up without looking down to make sure there are no tiny baby fingers trying to get broken underneath you. And 'ware plastic bags. And books - no book is safe if inreach of a mobileinfant; they are the best chew-toys ever invented.

Our baby monitor was mains-powered, which meant no battery issues, but we couldn't stick the baby end in the car if she was sleeping in her car seat.

I was quite glad JoJo was slow to crawl - it meant less of this sort of thing!
