Blood tests and personal endurance
Mar. 20th, 2003 09:38 amI went for my blood tests this morning. It was fine, apart from nearly collapsing in the queue. They're doing a cell count, thyroid test, some other things. The doctor is going to get me a scan appointment to rule out epilepsy, I thinkg (he didn't say epilepsy, but he did ask if I came to after a blackout to find I'd bitten my tongue etc; I can't think of any other kinds of seizures).
I am also working up to working on my essay again. I don't know how Rose does it - I have had to ask for an extension for this one. I can't manage an hour a day studying, let alone get A grades. I used to get A grades, all the time, effortlessly. Now it's not happening. Perhaps I'm just too tired.
I have set myself little targets and am using reward cards - I get a point for every hour of study, and for every assignment I hand in on time. Ten points and I get a treat - probably stationery.
I called HR and told them I'd be back on Monday, and that it was probably stress. They're going to talk to me about it; I'll see how that goes before making any career decisions. I don't want to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
