Date: 2002-10-10 08:19 am (UTC)I said that I would believe we were getting a bonus when I saw it, and that I had stopped believing anything the company told me until I saw it. I said that this was not, in spite of what he wanted to believe, based on one disappointment, but the cumulative effect of months of disappointment.
I wasn't quite that articulate, since he didn't shut up long enough to say it all at once, and a lot of it was said with my face and my big bushy eyebrows.
But certainly he wasn't pleased.
Oh, I also told him that it was ok for me, since I was being supported by my fiance, but some of my coworkers couldn't last much longer on their pay and he'd lose them. And that he was in serious danger of losing the most efficient and reliable perosn on the team.
That panicked him. He called her in later to beg her not to go. Maybe she'll get a payrise eventually.
