Linnea: So... a man needs a woman to make a baby, but if a woman, a girl is grown up, and she wants a baby but she doesn't want to get married, she can just have one.

Ailbhe: Sort of - she still needs a seed from a man, remember that bit?

Linnea: Oh yeah.

Ailbhe: But she can find a man willing to do that, or she can get a doctor to get a seed from a man and put it in her.

Linnea: Right. I wonder what my hair will be like when I'm grown up?

Damn, I was about to get into infertility and IVF. Oh well. Hairdye it is, then.

She has a better grasp than Kate, she knows that there's a daddy, but hasn't thought about why he's needed & I haven't started that line of conversation myself.

I did overhear her telling Holly that giving birth hurts, but she'll be ok if she takes some calpol. If only!!!!

I didn't want to lie when Kate asked me if it hurt, so I told her it did, but explained about deep breathing & painkillers if needed.
