angilong whom I know slightly from an online group (newsgroup A) but don't know very well on a one-to-one basis.

artela, whom I met via an online group (newsgroup B), and don't know as well as I'd like to, but do know better from RL than from online.

baratron, whom I met at an event (newsgroup A) and don't know very well.

clairaide, whom I have never met IRL but feel as though I know better than some people whom I have met repeatedly in IRL. For some reason she is important to me, although our one-to-one contact has been minimal. (newsgroup A)

cygnata - I can't remember which real person this username is. Oops.

djm4 is someone I've met IRL a couple of times now and am beginning to consider a friend in the RL sense not just in the LJ sense. (newsgroup A)

dmwcarol is someone that I don't know very well and never have, and it seems like never will, although in a nonspecific way I wish her well (especially since she's doing the whole wedding thing now, yay Carol!). I don't have time to socialise any more, or something. Maybe it's a lack of energy thing. (newsgroup B)

eck I met at an event and although we don't communicate much he's special to me. I rarely feel so comfortable so fast. (newsgroup A)

elisem is just hoopy. I can't pin it into little wiggly words. They run away. (newsgroup A)

elynne I don't even know. We're part of the same newsgroup (newsgroup A).

firecat I may someday get to know. We're part of the same newsgroup (newsgroup A).

geekling is from another newsgroup, but again, someone I barely know. I am fond of zir, for some reason (newsgroup B).

gothwalk is someone I mainly know from a mailing list and via other people. And now LJ.

hitchhiker I am aware of from two newsgroups and sometimes posts interesting stuff; I don't know zir from Adam (newsgroups B + C).

hopeforyou I think I list because clairaide did, though she's now listed for her own sake. I'm getting fond of her, which I find interesting, given how little actual contact we've had.

kyte is another somewhat cool person I barely know, RL meeting notwithstanding. (newsgroup A)

lizw is someone I think I could like a lot, and may one day get to know a bit better. So far it's all online, except one hectic event. (newsgroup A)

mactavish interests me. We share a newsgroup, which is probably why we'r eon each otehrs' lists. (newsgroup A)

meirion also just interests me, though it took me ages to realise that we share a newsgroup. I think I met zir on IRC first. (newsgroup A and possibly C)

micheinnz shares a newsgroup with me and writes stuff I find interesting. Sometimes, that's enough. (newsgroup A)

mittelschmertz got listed because I loved the username - did mactavish point it out to me? She's still listed because she writes cool stuff. Hmm. I have no idea what her actual gender is, but the username makes me think "she".

nex0s shares a newsgroup and came to England and I met her. She rocks. (newsgroup A)

nitoda is just lovely. She shares the newsgroup too, and I met her at an event. (newsgroup A)

nolly is another form the group (newsgroup A).

puritybrown I have known IRL since I was 14 and she was 14.

q_skud I have seen in various newsgroups and things. Sometimes on IRC. She's interesting; I have no idea why I'm her lj-friend.

sinboy Was first added when I realised he was the first person to have had a crush on me in several years. This was so flattering I had to find out more about him. I believe that the crush has since died, but he's still on the list because he's great. (newsgroup A)
