We cycled to the Co-op bank to lodge our dividends (enough for a week's groceries with some over!) and then to the Waterfest. I did an hour on the True Food Co-op stall and accidentally borrowed a pen from the "Life" stall (I held Linnea's hand very tight as we walked through that stall afterwards, thinking something along the lines of "Don't worry darling, I won't let them get you," which was... odd) and the rest of the time I spent exploring with my family.
We bought sausages from the Scouts barbecue and pasties from another stall and tea from a travelling café in the back of a minivan. We bought Linnea a pair of second-hand resizable roller-skates with Dora the Explorer on them and as tomorrow is Father's Day the children and I bought Rob The Monmouth Rebellion (by my friend Geoff) and The Holy Brook (by someone we don't know) and Linnea had a few goes on her skates and Emer had one go and didn't like it much, as they are too big.
After that we went to get carrots and I bought some half-price stationery in John Lewis because I am weakwilled where stationery is concerned. Then we went to Eclectic Games to visit Becky and the girls played with a marvellous rubber ducky game featuring Doggie Duck, Ninja Duck, Docter Duck, Sheriff Duck, Fairy Godmother Duck, and, er, some others.
After we got home Emer fell asleep on my lap, I re-rinsed the load in the washing machine, and Rob started peeling potatoes.
It has been a good day and I think the rest of the day will also be good.
If only Rob and I weren't so short-tempered; I think it's a combination of tiredness and brewing colds.
But we're being as nice as we can while feeling tetchy, which is good.
