When my child is in pain

I told people who know her that Linnea had complained of pain in her ear. They all figured that if Linnea is complaining of pain, perhaps her head is about to explode or fall off. In general, she doesn't, and never has. She is sometimes frightened by potential pain, but that's not quite the same thing.

So today we went to the doctor and she has A Virus which is making her tonsils sit up and take notice. Emer has a cough and a sneeze. Astrid has a snuffle. And I keeled over and lay down in the late afternoon, and in the early evening I went to sleep for two solid hours.

I may rethink my baby-visiting, depending on how I feel tomorrow.

In other news, I sold http://artbyailbhe.blogspot.com/2011/01/little-house-in-hills-with-bird.html and got paid for it, so I used the money to buy two litres of paint. While I was at it, I incidentally bought a stack of new canvas, too, which is the second time ever I've bought materials which hadn't been paid for by sold paintings... Need to sell more. I might do a post about them soon.

Sorry the kids are sick. Hope it's a quick thing.

I seem to be a little nuts myself, though. I could've sworn we'd found each other on FaceBook—hell, I even remember you commenting on a post of mine a few weeks ago. But now I can't find you. Weird.

Anyhow, I'm in London for a few more days. I'm free for dinner this evening and daytime hanging out tomorrow, and I'm trying to arrange some kind of group get-together for Wednesday night. If you're at all willing and able to meet during those times anywhere my Oyster Card can get me, please do let me know. 0742 755 7732.

Until the children are better, I can't really travel to London. Mondays are Rob's late working evening, but Wednesday is just about possible if people get well. Linnea's tonsils are the size of ping pong balls - well, large overgrown raspberries, anyway. We're living in Reading now, half an hour from Paddington on the train.

Oh! Rats! I had lunch in Reading on Saturday, with uberredfraggle and valkyriekaren. You might've liked meeting them, and I would have loved to have caught up with you.

Planning aside, I hope the little ones recover quickly. I imagine it'll be easier next time I'm in town, when they're a bit bigger. But if Wednesday does become a possibility, please do send me an SMS!

Saturday was jam-packed and a bit complicated anyway, including puking Astrid and incredibly busy grocery shopping and so on.
