I was hanging out the laundry this morning and listening to the sound tests for Reading Festival. And the sirens of the police cars and ambulances, of course.

The local papers often publish the rape count on the Tuesday after.

Alphabet

Emer and I have just stuck an alphabet frieze on the wall, one letter at a time. She's not impressed that the aXe is so far away from the Hammer and the Nails. The Sun and the Tomato are quite close, so that's ok. Z is for Beez.

I also got my laundry in JUST as it started to rain so that's good - two loads got dried. And Rob made flapjacks last night, so we're all set for a day in.

That American kidnap/incaerceration/rape/forced pregnancy case

WHY do they keep broadcasting the perpetrator's stupid phonecall statement? There is no other side of the story when you kidnap and rape a child. Not possible. I didn't hear much of it but it appears that part of his defense is that he loved and cherished the children he forced her to have and "slept with them in his arms every night."

WHY AM I NOT REASSURED I DON'T UNDERSTAND!
