So much for leaving by 09:30
May. 9th, 2009 10:31 amBut I did get the girls' hair and teeth brushed before they left. I've run a cleaning cycle on the washing machine because it needed it, so when that's finished I can do a load of laundry. I've sorted four loads ready to go on, and hung two loads from yesterday/last night on the line outdoors. I've also run the dishwasher and spoken to my mother, who arrives on Monday morning after an all-night bus trip; her bus leaves Midleton, Co Cork on Sunday and arrives near us at 6:30 Monday morning.
I'm about to go out to Lidl, which is close, to buy detergents and water softeners and things. Today is going to be so exciting. For other people!
Congratulations to

May. 9th, 2009 07:27 pmBuying a new phone was neither as difficult nor as expensive as I feared. I got the train to town and popped into Eclectic Games, where Darrell obliged me by talking about phones. When Becky arrived I suggested we go get some lunch, and on the way to lunch we went to the phone shop where I got a new phone, not too small, with the same interface as the old one. It has a camera of sorts and a radio which I think I might love madly, and it spoke Bluetooth to my old phone so I was able to get all the numbers from one to the other.
After lunch I went to the True Food market and bought, well, food, and then came home on the bus and did laundry and sorted my new phone out. I didn't have time to sit in a cafe alone with a book, sadly, but lunch out counts, I feel. And the TFC might be able to help with sourcing Xylitol.
Meanwhile, the children had a marvellous time with Rob and his parents; they saw boats and ate a big lunch and got lots of presents.
