We walked up the hill to Tigglers Togglers this morning, with Emer in the mei tai under my poncho. Linnea wasn't that keen on walking but made it up the hill ok, with a slight stitch. We had to come straight home afterwards, because without the trike it's a pain to get from Tiggers into the town centre. I shall have to make a special expedition at some stage.

On the way home we walked past The Children's House, so I asked if we could come in for a visit. Linnea ran off outside and played with some of the other children, and I was shown around by the, er, manager, I suppose you'd call her. It's lovely, and I think we'll send Linnea one afternoon a week; she seemed to like it, and it's free, and they won't mind if we don't bring her for whatever reason. We just need to fill in the forms and choose a day.

Emer will miss her madly. And she'll miss Emer, but I think she'll cope well. And it's likely that Emer will think having me all to herself is adequate compensation.

I do wonder when Linnea will get me all to herself. Oh well.

After lunch we went shopping at Lidl and then home again - I forget what we did but the house is full of toys everywhere. Oh, I phoned my mother, for the first time in ages. I ought to get back into the habit of that.

We're working on getting the telly out of the main part of the house. It involves a lot of moving stuff around, but we have already made things so that we don't need to turn the telly on to listen to the radio. So that's progress. If we could just unjam the CD player, that would be a BIG step.

So now all the visual stuff in the front room is unplugged, so we're no longer paying for standby. It annoys me that none of it has an off switch - the buttons are for on or standby, and off is only doable at the actual plug.

Rob is working on getting a storage unit into the attic so that we can keep working on getting that sorted out.

I've also managed to make a loaf of white bread with a nice soft top crust. If I can transfer the skill to wholemeal I will be very pleased.
