I've just had my first cup of tea, and some cake.

Prior to that I changed several huge pooey nappies, tidied the two downstairs rooms and the kitchen, cleaned the kitchen counters, and, er, I forget what.

All three of us are dressed. It's time I sorted out Linnea's lunch.

Then I have to go into town and buy train tickets to Walsden for Sat/Sun.

I have a poll to post in a minute, about childhood housework responsibilities. Talk among yourselves until I finish making Linnea's lunch and then compose it. Or I might get out.

After Linnea, I bled heavily to moderately for seven weeks. After Emer, and the *effective* removal of the placenta and all the associated bits, I bled moderately to slightly for 8 weeks.

After Linnea, I ovulated at 7 weeks and got my period at 9 weeks. After Emer, I felt PMS-ey from 8-9 weeks and then nothing. Still nothing; she's 10 weeks today. I think. I'm not very good at counting.

After Linnea, I was on as much codeine, ibuprofen and paracetamol as I could could get my hands on for 9 months. After Emer, I dropped the codeine within a fortnight and stopped taking painkillers entirely before 6 weeks.

After Linnea, I had PTSD. After Emer, I have PND. I'm not sure which is better. Of course, I also still have some PTSD symptoms as well.

Still, at least it's all here for future reference now. I need to change Linnea's nappy and get us the hell out of the house.

This isn't as carefully thought out as I wanted it to be but I've had a hell of a day and topped it off by cooking us all dinner while watching both children - Emer on my hip, Linnea playing in the kitchen. Then we reached a point where Rob only had to hold Emer for her to have screaming hysterics - we've been working up to that for a couple of weeks now, he has always ignored small babies by default and she's really noticing - and now I've gotten her off to sleep and perhaps I will have an uninterrupted, hot cup of tea.

At least Rob is prepping tomorrow's dinner, which will go in the slow cooker. Tomorrow had better be better than today.

My girl

Today she wore navy blue Mary Janes and white knee socks. Not just any old white knee socks, the kind with a pattern of holes on them. From the scabby knees down, she looked like any little girl for the past 50 years.

I must photograph her legs someday soon.

There was a teacher at my secondary school who wore navy blue socks of the same style, complete with pattern of little holes. It was hard to take her seriously, even if she did teach Honors Leaving Cert Maths.
