ailbheToday she wore navy blue Mary Janes and white knee socks. Not just any old white knee socks, the kind with a pattern of holes on them. From the scabby knees down, she looked like any little girl for the past 50 years.
I must photograph her legs someday soon.
There was a teacher at my secondary school who wore navy blue socks of the same style, complete with pattern of little holes. It was hard to take her seriously, even if she did teach Honors Leaving Cert Maths.
