So late yesterday evening, after the whole WOMAD thing, I got dizzy (due to sinuses) and stumbled, which really, really hurt my pelvis. I was in pain all night and this morning can walk, but can't turn over, sit down, stand up, or much else at all.

We called NHS Direct who told me (a) call the midwife, and (b) don't let Rob go to work. We're waiting for 9 am to call Fiona because she doesn't usually work on Mondays. There's no point calling the labour ward to speak to the on-call midwife because unless they think one is in labour they send one to one's GP and I can't walk that far.

Rob has taken Linnea down the street to post a note through a door. There's a reliable teenager there, and she is probably on her school holidays. She may not have a job yet. The only other people who could help are on holiday in Prague.

We shall see.

Well, next time, I shall remember:

To stop cycling at 30 weeks.

To stop any pelvis-opening activity as soon as I get a hip or pelvis twinge.

To get on the physiotherapy list as soon as I get pregnant, in the hope of reaching the top by the time SPD starts showing up.

This time:

I am still able to walk to the loo, and am no longer in pain while at rest (hurrah for rest!)

I will not risk spending another day wandering around, however much fun I had. Housebound from now on, that's all there is to it.

I will not sit in cars, however much the driver tries to persuade me it's a good idea, unless I have a necessary appointment to go to. No car outings for fun. The tilt of the seats, plus getting in and out, is just too damn painful.

I will not be brave and noble and risk making myself worse. Even when I feel fine, I will remain housebound until I have had the baby, except for necessary appointments.

With luck, this means I won't do any actual damage. I'm hoping that since I'm not in pain when at rest, I haven't done any real damage yet.
