Actually, I think the worst is past. Linnea is coughing much less, and my chest doesn't hurt. Her nose is like a tap - a sticky green tap, ok, but with excellent water pressure. She was in good humour when I changed her nappy and gave her breakfast; she ate all her breakfast. She agreed to a certain amount of getting dressed (and she tried to get me my clothes for the day, too, but there were no clean bras in the drawer so she looked into it and said "Oh! Very empty! Oh!" for a while).

We've eaten and the kitchen and dining room and library are in fairly good shape, and Linnea is partially dressed, and I'm washed and dressed and have done my hair, and we are, in fact, all ready to go out and face the world. Except that I think an actual outing is still a bit much for Linnea really. She has to go out for a while later anyway while I'm at my therapy session. I'm almost panicky enough about tomorrow's hospital visit to avoid going to the therapy appointment, but not quite. I hope.

I do love summer time. It really makes my life easier.

Linnea fell asleep on my lap during a feed, just a few minutes ago, and I needed to put her down. I'm too pregnant to carry her upstairs (and I really need to do some aquanatal classes, actually, because I am getting too worried about the stabbing pains which are almost certainly due to lack of exercise) and the only place to put her down was on the quite grubby rug in the library.

So I lifted her up, grabbed a clean prefold nappy from a stack of laundry on the windowseat, and put that down for her "pillow". So at least her face is on a scrupulously clean piece of fabric, even if the rest of her is lying in halfchewed raisins and breadcrumbs and things.

She hasn't napped for a while. I think it's all part of recovering from this cold.
