A good day, a happy day, a fine day

Which is an odd title for an entry that begins "Rob got five hours sleep last night, and I had considerably less. Linnea is waking with night terrors."

Linnea is refusing to sleep alone except when she is put down at 9 pm for bedtime; when she wakes in the night she needs to come into our bed, and this morning she cried until I lay down on the bed and napped with her, which was lovely; I had to skip the housework, the baby needed me!

I got the housework done anyway, and fed her lunch, which was a delight, and ate sardines and oatcakes, which was novel, and played a series of games, and then tootled off to my counselling session, to which I had to bring Linnea because Rob's day in London was rescheduled after I scheduled my counselling to fit around it, but that was ok, because the counselling was low-key and the counsellor kept getting distracted and syaing "Oooh, aren't you clever?" to Linnea, when she did her walk-two-steps trick.

Then I pootled up to the NCT coffee, which was very nice and no-one scary or aloof was there and we talked about breastfeeding and one woman said she liked it, which wasn't what she said last week when other people were saying they hated it and I shut up and kept my own counsel, but that was nice, and the host is pregnant with twins due in early May! So maybe they'll be born on Linnea's birthday! Wouldn't that be exciting? and I ate a lot of biscuits. This is the first time a lot of the mothers have seen Linnea awake, because coffee is usually at her afternoon nap time, but today she had her nap on my shoulder during counselling.

On the way home I suddenly decided to go to the playground and in we went; Linnea loves the swings, and likes the slide if she goes down face-down and feet-first. We stayed there about 45 minutes, which was too long given how cold it was, but she loved it! And then I popped in to Sweet Masala for a samosa and a cup of masala tea, and then to LIDL for some groceries, and I bought cake.

And then I came home and made my dinner and Linnea's and cleaned up a bit and then Rob came home and made his own dinner and we did our meal plan and grocery list and pantry stock-taking and then I played online and soon we'll go to bed.

It's been nice.
