Take the Color Code Test

I went down to the Job Centre today for my New Deal appointment. I was on time, I had a CV printed out, I had a summary of most of the positions I've applied for, I had a bad stomach ache and a serious case of nerves. I feel terribly guilty, it seems, for being unemployed.
However, it went very well. She was interested in what I had to say, seemed very surprised that I haven't got a job, given my skills (so am I, or I would be if I wasn't so resigned), and obviously wanted to be helpful. I have another appointment with her next week. She is investigating work experience; training other unemployed people in basic computer use. That is very interesting to me.
Since I got new clothes at Christmas it has been something of an obsession with me. I got green corduroy trousers the day Niamh left, and today I went to Primark, which apparently has a sale on.
I found a bunch of jeans, and took 4 pairs into the fitting rooms, where I tried them on in quick succession. One pair fit (size 12). They fit really well; the hips are perfect, and the waist is only about an inch too big, which is useful if I ever want to carry a book stuffed down the back of my trousers. The legs are too long, of course, but I'm used to that. I'm really pleased with these jeans; they're a nice dark green. So I bought them, and another pair in brown. They were £4 each, which is, whichever way you look at it, a bargain. I also bought a long-sleeved tshirt for £2, and a bright blue duffel-bag type thing for £2. I'm going back there, but I hope to resist for just a little while; I can't afford too many bargains.
