I found a couple of watercolours I've done or started, over the years, and Rob and Lucy think they're not bad, so I might do more of that kind of thing. Linnea would think they were more like Real Paintings than my oil stuff, which is just colour, really. I'm going to put away the oil one currently on the easel and come back to it later, when it's dry, and decide whether to just paint over the top or try to finish it somehow.

I also found my failed elephant which needs its leg scraped off and repainted so it looks attached to its body, but then I can hang it somewhere. I love the faffints and am very grateful to Emer for getting me to paint them.

I switched from oils to acrylics - I can get a similar kind of colour intensity and slap it on just as thickly as oil, but it dries a lot faster. I have no patience for oil any more.

Wow, isn't technology wonderful? :-) It's amazing the things that get developed while I'm not paying attention. That sounds like a really useful innovation. One of the things I hate most about oils is the cleanup afterward. Sounds like they've solved that problem!

That is handy. I didn't know you could get them (despite being interested in painting and having worked for a time at Daler-Rowney...). Evidently I need to open my eyes!

There are also new water-based oils which work just like oils, but clean up with water and dry faster than traditional oils.
